opposite near where the drive-in movie theater is now located. In January 1891, it was taken out 
by the ice and high water and washed downstream in pieces. &amp;nbsp;The bridge was the 
old wood type that frequently was damaged or destroyed by ice flows or floods 
because they were constructed with a pier located mid-stream, making it more 
vulnerable to damage. &amp;nbsp;This style of bridge was probably very similar to those 
constructed in Pleasant Valley and elsewhere in town during most 
of the 1800s. &lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
